We rebranded from Omni to Nomina in pursuit of a new mission: to become the number one access point for leaders of the onchain era. It was important for us to have a brand that represented this vision as we shifted from developer tools to a now-live trading platform built directly for the first movers of today’s onchain economy.
Of course, many of these dedicated first movers are within our existing community. For them, this new era will start with the $NOM token.
What Are the Differences Between $OMNI and $NOM?
While the $OMNI token will continue to exist and the previously outlined tokenomics structure will remain in place, $NOM will become the main token that drives our network. Token holders should be aware that the ratio of $OMNI to $NOM is 1:75.
This redenomination means the total supply of $NOM sits at 7.5 billion with 2.9 billion $NOM in circulation. Exchanges like Binance will be migrating and listing $NOM in subsequent weeks, but a fully audited token migration app is already live for $OMNI holders to use.
How Do I Migrate My $OMNI to $NOM?
If you have $OMNI on L1, you can migrate your $OMNI to $NOM with these steps:
- Go to our token migration app and connect your wallet
- Enter the amount of $OMNI you would like to upgrade
- Double check the amount of $NOM you would receive (again, the ratio is 1:75)
- Click “Upgrade”
It’s important to our team that all $OMNI holders have the opportunity to migrate whenever they choose. As such, the migration timeline is indefinite to ensure that every member of our community can join us on our new journey at any point.
What If I Hold $OMNI on the Omni EVM or Have $OMNI Staked?
If you hold $OMNI or have staked $OMNI and staking rewards on the Omni EVM, you won’t need to take any action. Our team will conduct a network upgrade in subsequent weeks following the rebrand launch, after which any $OMNI on the Omni EVM, which includes staked $OMNI and staked $OMNI rewards on the Omni EVM, will be automatically upgraded to $NOM.
If you are a genesis $OMNI staker who participated in our boosted rewards program, you will still be rewarded according to the reward claim dates initially laid out as part of the campaign. We’ll have more information via official channels. If you are a genesis staker who did not participate in our upgrade campaign, your $OMNI on L1 will not be automatically upgraded and will, instead, be returned to you on L1.
Additionally, we will be disabling $OMNI staking 24 hours before the network upgrade. $NOM staking will be available at a future date.
